1. Who We Are
JobNex ("we", "us", "our") operates a reverse hiring marketplace. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. Data We Collect
We collect data you provide directly:
- Account data: Email address, password (hashed)
- Profile data: Headline, bio, skills, experience, salary expectations, work preferences, location, industry
- Company data (employers): Company name, website, industry, team size, description
- Communications: Messages sent through the platform
- Files: Profile photos and company logos. Resumes are processed by AI to extract skills and experience, then immediately deleted — we never store resume files.
We automatically collect:
- Profile view counts (anonymized)
- Essential session cookies for authentication
3. Why We Process Your Data
- Contract performance: To provide the matching service you signed up for
- Legitimate interest: To calculate market value scores, match candidates with employers, and improve the platform
- Consent: For any optional marketing communications (you can opt out at any time)
4. Anonymous Profiles
By default, candidate profiles are anonymous. Employers cannot see your name, current employer, or contact information until you explicitly accept a connection. Your anonymous display ID (e.g., JN-1023) is your public identifier.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with:
- Supabase (data processor): Hosts our database and authentication in EU data centers. We have a Data Processing Agreement in place.
- Vercel (hosting): Serves the application.
- Employers (limited): Only see your anonymous profile data unless you accept a connection.
6. Data Retention
- Active accounts: Data retained while your account is active
- Deleted accounts: All data permanently deleted within 30 days
- Inactive accounts: Notified after 18 months of inactivity, deleted after 24 months
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access: Download all your data from Settings → Export My Data
- Rectification: Edit your profile at any time
- Erasure: Delete your account from Settings → Delete Account
- Portability: Export your data in JSON format
- Restriction: Contact us to restrict processing
- Object: Opt out of marketing, contact us for other objections
8. Data Security
We protect your data with:
- Encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL)
- Row-level security policies ensuring users can only access their own data
- Hashed passwords (never stored in plain text)
- EU-based data storage
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies required for authentication and session management. Non-essential cookies (analytics, marketing, functional) are only activated with your explicit consent via our cookie preferences panel.
10. Use of Artificial Intelligence
JobNex uses AI systems to provide the following features:
- Resume parsing: AI extracts structured profile data (skills, experience, industry) from uploaded resumes. Resumes are processed in real-time and immediately deleted — they are never stored.
- Market value estimation: AI estimates your salary range based on skills, experience, location, and industry trends.
- Match scoring: AI calculates compatibility between candidate profiles and employer requirements.
- Bio generation: AI generates anonymous professional summaries from your profile data.
- Automatic introductions: AI periodically identifies strong matches and notifies both parties.
All AI processing uses third-party large language models. Your data is sent to these providers solely for processing and is not used to train their models. No automated decisions with legal effect are made without human review.
You have the right to request human review of any AI-generated output that affects you (Article 22, GDPR).
